School-Linked Health Center

The Smackover-Norphlet School District has a partnership with local physicians and dentists to provide services to our students for medical, dental and mental health needs.  The School-Linked Health Center provides services beyond the scope of the school nurse practice and is not intended to replace the school nurse. The School-Linked Health Center is required to maintain a working relationship with the physician of a child’s medical home, and to ensure that individual patient health plans are executed effectively and efficiently. The intent is for the center to act as a resource center for wellness and prevention. This program includes:

• Off-site doctor visits for students (employees transport and supervise students at the Smackover Family Practice Clinic)
• Off-site dentist visits for students (employees transport and supervise students at Dr. Taylor Everett, DDS)
• On-site mental health services for students and staff
