Dear Buckaroos and Smackover-Norphlet Community Members,
As many of you know, Governor Hutchinson announced that traditional school has been cancelled for the remainder of the year due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
As a community member, I’m encouraged by our ability to unite, show resolve, and make the best decisions possible in these unique times. This is a tough situation for us all, but we are tougher and will prevail in due time.
Please follow the recommendations from our national and state authorities and government during these time and do all we can do to keep our Buckaroo family safe and strong.
Books and School Materials
As a district, we will be preparing information for our students, staff, and parents in regards to books, technology devices, athletic gear pick up/drop off, etc. in the coming weeks. For now, take care of your families and gather those materials for when that time is announced.
As for our students and parents, please continue to utilize the AMI resources and plans our teachers and staff have provided.
To our seniors and senior parents, we will be posting an FAQ that will provide answers to your questions as well as an avenue to ask more questions in regards to graduation, GPA, etc.
For now, the Smackover-Norphlet School District is postponing graduation. We will discuss possibilities and make a decision in the near future as to how graduation will be handled.
As I close, please be faithful in these times and stay positive! Although this is an adverse situation, it also provides us an opportunity to grow and be a positive impact on those around us.
Stay healthy and stay strong. God bless and go Bucks!
Jason Black, Superintendent
