Smackover High School Counselor Mrs. Amber Miller will meet remotely with all 8th through 11th grade students to help them in planning which courses the students would like to take for the 2020-2021 school year.

STEP ONE:  Choose a pathway!

To help parents and students in planning schedules, we are encouraging students to choose a pathway.  Please open up the document below to help you look at all of the exciting pathways a student can follow while still enrolled in high school!

Remember:  If you choose a pathway this year and don’t like it, you can always change next year!

STEP TWO:  Review the course catalog and course selection sheet.

One of the links below is for the Smackover High School Course Catalog for 9th-12th Grade Students. Additionally, links are provided for course selection sheets.

Don’t worry about mailing these sheets in.  This is just to help you plan.

STEP THREE:  Watch for an email from Mrs. Miller.

Mrs. Miller and some other staff members will be making contact for advising with all of the current 8th – 11th grade students using the schedule below:

  • April 20 – 24 – Current Juniors and current 8th graders
  • April 27 – May 1 – Current Sophomores
  • May 4 – 8 – Current Freshmen

She will also send an electronic form for students to complete once they have received advising.

If you don’t have Internet access, DON’T WORRY!  Just let Mrs. Miller know when she calls and she will take care of it for you based on what you decide together during advising.

Parents – You are welcome to sit in on the advising phone call!  Just use the speaker option on your phone.  We would love to have you participate.

We are looking forward to a great 2020-2021 school year!
