ATHLETIC WORKOUTS TO RESUME ON WEDNESDAY!

The Smackover-Norphlet School District Athletic Staff is ready to begin athletic workouts with our student athletes.  The health and safety of our athletes and our coaches are our highest priorities.  We will be following the guidance provided by the Arkansas Department of Health and the Arkansas Activities as our athletes reenter.

Please read the separate post regarding Smackover-Norphlet School District Athletics:  COVID-19 Policies & Procedures.  Athletes will need their parents to sign the Athletic Consent Form.

10th – 12th Grade Boys Workouts

  • Workouts will be Monday-Thursday starting Wednesday, June 3.
  • June 3 and 4th workouts are at 9 am – 10 am.
  • Beginning on June 8th, Group 1 will practice at 8 am – 9 am and Group 2 will practice at 9:30 am – 10:30 am.

Junior High workouts for 8th and 9th grade boys will begin on July 6th.  (Time TBD based on state regulations.)

10th – 12th Grade Girls Workouts

  • Workouts will be Monday-Thursday starting Wednesday June 3.
  • June 3 and 4th workouts are at 10:30 am – 11:30 am.  Cheer workouts will be from 9 am to 10 am.
  • Beginning on June 8th, practice will be from 11 am – 12 noon.  Cheer workouts will continue to be from 9 am to 10 am.

Junior High workouts for 8th and 9th grade girls will begin on July 6th.  (Time TBD based on state regulations.)

Procedures athletes are required to follow:

  • All players will report to the Fitness Center.
  • All players must be screened daily by the Athletic Trainer/Coaching Staff.
  • Player screening will start 30 minutes before workouts.
  • Once screened the players will report to the designated areas awaiting start of workout.
  • Players must wear mask to enter the athletic facilities. (NO MASK…NO PRACTICE!)
  • Players must wear mask when not actively participating and while spotting.
  • Coaches must wear mask at all times.
  • Players must come dressed and ready to workout. (No locker rooms.)
  • Players must bring their own water.
  • Players must wear a mask and follow the Governors Phase 1 Guidelines as well as the Smackover-Norphlet School District Guidelines.

Players will have 6 separate stations in the indoor facility:

  • Each station will have a small group of students.
  • Stations are placed 20 yards apart in the indoor facility.
  • Players and staff will be given time to disinfect the working area upon rotations.
  • When workouts are over players need to leave. (No hanging out).
