The Smackover Lady Bucks golf team earned the title of 2025 3A State Runner-Up, edging out Harding Academy by a single stroke to secure second place in the state tournament.

It was a total team effort as all four golfers finished in the top 20, with two placing inside the top 10. Kannyn Preston led the way with a round of 91 to finish fifth overall and earn All-State honors. Emerson Neal recorded her personal best with a 96, placing in the top 10 and also earning All-State recognition.

Katherine Wolfe sank a 20-foot putt to clinch the runner-up finish, closing out with a round of 101 for 14th overall. Jewel Arnold turned in a solid score of 103, placing 19th. Smackover’s top three scorers—Preston (91), Neal (96), and Wolfe (101)—combined for a team score of 288, good enough for second place overall.

The team also credited Sofie Pearson for her encouragement and support throughout the day. With a roster made up of freshmen and sophomores, the Lady Bucks’ future looks bright for the program.
