Melanie Castleberry was named Principal of Smackover Elementary in June of 2025. Mrs. Castleberry joined the SES team from Fairview, where she was the Assistant Principal at Fairview Elementary.

“I am so excited for this new journey and the opportunity to lead this amazing group of teachers,” said Mrs. Castleberry. “I look forward to building a school community where every voice is valued, challenges are embraced, and our success is celebrated.”

In her 17 years as an educator, Mrs. Castleberry has served as a teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. She earned her bachelors and masters degrees from Southern Arkansas University.

A mom to three sons, Mrs. Castleberry also enjoys reading, spending time with family, and watching her boys play sports.
