• BOYS STATE: SHS’ Ben Paulus as City Councilman for Bland City at Arkansas Boys State 2024.
• SHS HONOR ROLL: Congratulations to our students at SHS who earned their place on the Honor Roll for the fourth and final nine weeks grading period!
• REMEMBER AND HONOR: Coach Harrison, along with volunteers from the Buckaroo varsity football team, placed flags in Smackover Cemetery to honor our fallen heroes on Memorial Day.
• LIVING WELL: SHS FCCLA took an end-of-the-year trip to Jacob’s Well Coffeehouse in Camden.
• LADY BUCK NATION: Smackover-Norphlet Youth Softball Players wore their jerseys to school to show their love and support sending the Lady Bucks off to State!
• HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHS!: The Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources in Smackover compiled a temporary exhibit highlighting 100 years of Smackover High School!
• GRADUATION NEXT: Seniors in the Smackover High School Class of 2024 celebrated their last full day of school earlier this week by parading in front of the high school before school.
• TOMORROW’S LEADERS TODAY: Future Business Leaders of America students attended the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Little Rock.
• POWDER PUFF POWER: Junior and Senior High girls batted it out for supremacy in the annual Powder Puff Football Game!
• LET THE GAMES BEGIN: SHS Student Council hosted the annual Buckaroo Olympics games.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
 

As we approach the end of another academic year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the accomplishments and growth we have achieved together at Smackover High School.  

It has been a journey of transformation for our school as we continue to grow as a professional learning community.  As the principal, I’ve witnessed the progress and commitment of our school alongside my own growth as a lead learner in this process. Through it all, our school community has remained dedicated, supportive and focused on our shared goal of providing the best education for our students.

To the Class of 2024, congratulations on reaching this significant milestone! Your hard work and perseverance have prepared you for the next step in your new adventures.  We are so very proud of each and every one of you!  Remember, once a Buckaroo always a Buckaroo!  To our returning students, take this summer break as an opportunity to explore and pursue your interests outside of the classroom. I encourage you to make the most of your time off. 

To our dedicated teachers, staff and parents, your commitment to our students’ success is unwavering. Your effort and hard work are truly commendable and is a direct result of our academic and curricular growth and improvement this school year.

I would now like to express my appreciation for the opportunity to serve as principal at Norphlet Elementary School and Smackover High School.  Over the past 7 years, I have had the privilege of working with some of the most talented and dedicated staff members in my career. I am confident that Smackover High School will continue to show academic growth and progress.  I wish you all the best and happiness in the future.
